Sata sacks ZNBS board

President Michael Sata has continued his purge of state organisations by dissolving the Board of the Zambian National Building Society (ZNBS) this week. The president has appointed a commission of inquiry to investigate allegations of corruption.

Also this week the president appointed Mumba Malila as the new Attorney General and Ms Rosewin Wandi as the Director General of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The president has appointed a 20 member technical committee to draft a new constitution. The committee have been asked to consult widely, including international and national experts as well as the people to ensure a constitution that fits the best international standards. The president stated that he wanted to see that national structures of governance are inclusive and devolved to provincial and district levels.
