Sata thanks investors in first bond sale


Zambia this week sold its first 10-year dollar-denominated bond and managed to raise $750m from American, European and Asian investors; the government had been hoping to raise $500 million. The bond yield was placed at 5.625%.

Subsequently President Michael Sata thanked the investment community for their confidence in the country which is a major source of copper.
