Senate rejects second PM candidate

Published

Yesterday, the Haitian Senate rejected the second name submitted by President Michel Martelly for the position of Prime Minister. Bernard Gousse was rejected by 16 of the 30 senators, with 13 abstentions.

This is the second time that a named candidate proposed by the president has been rejected and effectively leaves the country without a government.
