Socialists launch 2012 manifesto

Published

The French Socialists have launched their 2012 manifesto a full year before scheduled elections in April/May 2012.

The manifesto which was launched by party leader Martine Aubry promised to get rid of tax breaks and create 300,000 jobs.

The Socialists have yet to decide on a presidential candidate for next year but are clearly trying to build on their successes in the recent local elections where Nicolas Sarkozy’s UMP party did very badly. Popularity ratings for Sarkozy have also plummeted.
