Support for Government and Parliament drops
A poll by the Exacta Research Group published in The Sofia Globe suggests that public approval for the incumbent Socialist Party government and the parliament has dropped over the past two months.
The poll puts Plamen Oresharski’s Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) led government on 25%, a drop of two percent whilst the parliament has the approval of just 15% of those polled, a drop of four percent.
Oresharski does slightly better than his government, with an approval rating of 30%, but 60% disapprove of him. The most popular politician is the opposition Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandukova, who is on 51% approval with President Rosen Plevneliev (currently an independent but formerly from GERB) on 43%.
