Two ministers resign

Two ministers have resigned following corruption allegations against them. The two ministers have denied the claims but have resigned to allow them to clear their names.

The two ministers are Syda Bbumba the Minister for Gender, Labour and Social Development and Khidu Makubuya, the Minister of General Duties in the office of the Prime minister.

Three ministers resigned last year also accused of corruption. Transparency International rates Uganda at 143 of 183 countries in their corruption perceptions index, with a score of 2.4 where 10 is least corrupt.
