UN agrees to no fly zone

The United Nations has agreed to a no fly zone over Libya and has endorsed the use of ‘all necessary measures’ to protect innocent civilians. The US, France and Britain voted in favour whilst Brazil, Russia, India, China and Germany abstained.

The move has been welcomed by the Libyan opposition.
