Finance Bill passed on Saturday

The upper house of the Irish Parliament, the Senate, passed the Finance Bill on Saturday.  The Bill will go to the President, Mary McAleese, today for signing.  That will leave the way clear for Brian Cowen the Irish Prime Minister (Taoiseach) clear to call the general election tomorrow (Tuesday 1st February) for the 25th February 2011.
