Aquino III rating remains high

A new opinion poll by Pulse Asia Inc, published yesterday gives President Benigno Aquino III high approval ratings 18 months after assuming office.

His performance ratings stand at 72%, although that is a fall from 77% three months ago. His trust rating has fallen 1% but is still very high at 74%.

The Government gets good ratings in three areas, fighting graft and corruption (56% approval), fighting criminality (53%) and maintaining law and order (53%). In two areas they have slipped down; solving poverty (32% approval) and controlling inflation (32%).

Approval ratings in other areas have slipped but still show reasonable levels of approval. They are; increasing peace (50%), stopping the destruction of the environment (49%), creating jobs (48%), strengthening trust in the government and its officials (44%); increasing workers’ pay (43%) and controlling population growth (42%).
