Hollande would beat Sarkozy according to latest poll

Published

A poll conducted by CSA for 20 Minutes, BFMTV and RMC has put Socialist Party (PS) candidate, François Hollande, on 62% against just 38% for incumbent president Nicolas Sarkozy.

When taking in to account other candidates Hollande still comes on top. In a first round vote François Hollande would receive 35% of the vote, Nicolas Sarkozy of the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) would get 25%, Marine Le Pen of the National Front (FN) is on 16% and François Bayrou of the Democratic Movement (MoDem) is on 9%.

A majority of voters have approved of the way in which the Socialist Party opened up their selection into nationwide primaries and 59% said that it had ‘reinforced and brought together’ the Socialist Party.
