New poll shows little change

An opinion poll conducted in early September by the Institute gfs.bern shows some small gains for the two main parties prior to the 23rd October general election whilst the second ranking parties have dropped fractionally. The largest rise was experienced by the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland (SP/PS) which saw their percentage of the vote rise by 2%.

The results of the poll are:

Swiss People’s Party (SVP/UDC) stand at 28%, up 0.6% on the August figure.

Social Democratic Party of Switzerland (SP/PS) are on 20.5% up 2% on August.

FDP.The Liberals (FDP/PLR) are on 15.6%, down 0.5%.

Christian Democratic People’s Party of Switzerland (CVP/PDC/PPD) are on 14.5%, down 0.5% on the previous month.

The Green Party of Switzerland (PES) are on 9.5%, down 0.5%.
