11th reshuffle by Sarkozy

President Nicolas Sarkozy has made his 11th Cabinet reshuffle in four years and just one year away from presidential elections. The reshuffle was forced upon him by the appointment of former finance minister Christine Lagarde to the International Monetary Fund (IMF)

François Baroin is the new Minister for Economy, Finance and Industry replacing Christine Lagarde.

Francois Sauvadet of the New Centre became the new Minister of Public Service.

Jean Leonetti, was made European Affairs Minister.

Valérie Pécresse replaces François Baroin as Minister of Budget, Public Accounts and the Civil Service, and State Reform, as well as government spokeswoman.
