Agriculture minister offers resignation

Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, Marek Sawicki, has tendered his resignation following allegations of corruption in his ministry.

The minister, a member of the junior coalition partner Polish Peasant’s Party (PSL) has held the post since 2007. It is not clear if Prime Minister Donald Tusk has accepted the resignation. The minister refutes any alleged malpractice and has vowed to clear his name.
