Assad appoints two new Ministers

President Bashar al-Assad has appointed two new ministers. No reason was given for the change in ministers which was announced on the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) website as follows:

“President Bashar al-Assad issued on Thursday two decrees naming Rima al-Qadiri Minister of Social Affairs and Jamal Shahin Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, replacing Kinda al-Shammat and Hassan Safiye, respectively.”
