Bainimarama changes Ministries

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama of Fiji has carried out a reshuffle of his Cabinet whilst also making changes to some ministerial portfolios. He is now the Foreign Minister and has split the ministry of Fisheries and Forestry into two.

The full list of changes to the ministries is as follows:

Voreqe Bainimarama; Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister for Itaukei Affairs and Minister for Sugar

Ratu Inoke Kubuabola; Minister of Defence, National Security and Immigration

Rosy Akbar; Minister for Health and Medical Services

Jone Usamate; Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations

Semi Koroilavesau; Minister for Fisheries

Osea Naiqamu; Minister for Forestry

Faiyaz Koya; Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, and Minister Lands and Mineral Resources

Mereseini Vuniwaqa; Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation

Veena Bhatnagar; Assistant Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation

Alex O’Connor; Assistant Minister for Health and Medical Services, focussing on public health
