Cabinet likely to resign

Published

A number of Gulf newspapers are reporting that the Cabinet of Prime Minister HH Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah may well resign after several months where they have repeatedly failed to work with the opposition controlled National Assembly.

Yesterday Ahmad Al-Rujaib, the Minister for Labour and Social Affairs submitted his resignation to the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah after he was called to be questioned by the parliament over irregularities in his ministry. He has been replaced by the Communications Minister, Salem Al-Othaina, in a temporary capacity.

Other ministers are facing a grilling from the National Assembly with motions of no confidence expected to follow and succeed.
