Cabinet resigns

Published

The Cabinet has submitted its resignation to the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah IV Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The move comes after the Supreme Court nullified legislative elections which took place in February and which gave the opposition control of parliament. Since then the two ministers have been forced out of office by the parliament. The Cabinet is made up largely of members of the ruling family.

This Cabinet was the ninth to resign since 2006.
