Mauritania

Cabinet resigns in routine move

Published

The Agence Mauritanienne d’Information (AMI) has announced that President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz has accepted the resignation of Prime Minister Dr. Moulaye Ould Mohamed Laghdaf and his Cabinet.

The move is seen as routine following the general election last November and December in which the ruling Union for the Republic Party (UPR) and its allies won 110 of the 147 seats in the National Assembly.

A new Cabinet is expected to be announced quite quickly.
