Chavez makes six changes to his Cabinet

Following his re-election last week President Hugo Chávez has made six changes to his Cabinet with most of the retiring ministers going off to fight state elections in December. The president also swore in his new Vice President, Nicolás Maduro.

The new ministers are:

Ernesto Villegas; Minister of Communication and Information
Néstor Reverol; Minister of Interior and Justice
Juan Carlos Loyo; Minister of Agriculture and Lands
Aloha Núñez; Minister for Indigenous Peoples
Cristóbal Francisco Ortiz; Minister of Environment
Carmen Teresa Meléndez; Head of the Office of the President and Government Oversight.
