Cities minister resigns

Published

Mario Negromonte, the Minister for Urban Affairs and a member of the Progressive Party (PP) with 41 seats in the 513 seat Chamber of Deputies, has resigned his position.

The ex minister would appear to be another of a run of ministers accused of corruption. He appeared before a congressional subcommittee but denied doing anything wrong. President Dilma Rousseff accepted his resignation and has appointed Aguinaldo Ribeiro, also a member of the Progressive Party.
