Published

President Luis Guillermo Solís has dismissed Culture and Youth Minister Elizabeth Fonseca Corrales and two of her deputy ministers this week after the 2015 International Arts Festival (FIA) flopped due to poor management and cancellations.

So far the President has appointed actress Sylvie Durán Salvatierra as a new Deputy Minister of Culture. “Sylvie has extensive experience not only in the field of the arts but also in cultural management. Her experience will help us strengthen, facing the public, the Government’s commitment to culture and foster an atmosphere of trust so important to recover this sector”, the President said.
