Development minister resigns

Published

Beverley “Bev” Oda has resigned as Minister of International Cooperation with effect from 31st July 2012. She also intends to resign her parliamentary seat.

Ms Oda was elected a member of parliament in 2004 and became Minister of international Cooperation in 2007. In recent times she has come in for criticism for profligate spending and was expected to be dropped from the Cabinet in an anticipated reshuffle later this month.

A successor has not yet been named and it may wait until the Cabinet reshuffle takes place.
