Published

Two Ministers have resigned from their posts causing a mini reshuffle in the Slovakian Cabinet.

Economy Minister Tomáš Malatinský resigned on Wednesday and will be replaced by Pavol Pavlis.

Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sport, Dušan Čaplovič, also resigned on Wednesday and will be replaced by Peter Pellegrini, who was until now a State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance.

In announcing the two changes Prime Minister Robert Fico said “The main task of the Ministry of Economy is to make Slovakia an attractive country for foreign investment and job creation.” “I believe that the presence of these two new faces will be a significant recovery of the Slovak government,”

The Prime Minister also announced that a number of changes to state secretaries will be made next week.
