Fernando Zavala to be new Prime Minister

Peru’s President-elect Pedro Pablo Kuczynski has chosen an economist, Fernando Zavala, to be his new prime minister.

Fernando Zavala Lombardi (45) is currently the CEO of Backus and Johnston, a subsidiary of SABMiller and was previously the Minister of Economy and Finance in the government of President Alejandro Toledo between August 2005 and July 2006. He has an economics degree from the University of the Pacific, a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Piura and an MBA from the University of Birmingham (United Kingdom).

The president-elect and prime minister will take up their posts on 28th July.
