FinMin dismissed by Parliament

Published

Iraq’s Finance Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, has been voted out of office by the country’s parliament. Out of 249 parliamentarians present 158 voted to remove the finance minister for alleged corruption whilst 77 wanted to keep him. It is unclear who will replace the minister because of the quota based system for appointing ministers along ethnic, sectarian and party lines.
