François Bellot named as new Transport Minister

François Bellot has been named as Belgium’s new Federal Minister for Mobility and Transport after the resignation of Jacqueline Galant last week.

François Bellot (62) is a member of Prime Minister Charles Michel’s centre-right Reformist Movement (MR) party. He graduated as a civil engineer and business management engineer but also has a degree in political science and is a graduate of the National School of Administration (ENA). Bellot was Mayor of the city of Rochefort, in the Ardennes, for 16 years and is a member of the parliament of Wallonia.
