Joko carries out long awaited Cabinet reshuffle

President Joko Widodo has replaced six of his ministers in a Cabinet reshuffle which has been a matter of speculation for several months. Less than a year after taking office the government was perceived as having drifted with economic performance in the doldrums, leading to criticism of the president.

The new ministers and their portfolios are as follows:

Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan Minister of Political, Legal and Security Affairs
Darmin Nasution Minister of Economic Affairs
Rizal Ramli Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries
Thomas Trikasih Lembong Minister of Trade
Pramono Agung Cabinet Secretary
Sofyan Djalil Minister of National Development Planning
