Joomart Otorbaev to act as temporary PM

Published

President Almazbek Atambayev has asked Acting First Vice-Prime Minister Joomart Otorbaev to undertake the portfolio of Prime Minister until a new person is appointed into the role.

The President dissolved the government on 18th March after coalition partner Ata-Meken complained about Prime Minister Zhantoro Satybaldiev and withdrew from the government. Zhantoro Satybaldiev has since formally tendered his resignation which was accepted in yesterday’s decree.
