José Icaza is new Oil Minister

President Rafael Correa has appointed José Icaza Romero as his new Minister of Hydrocarbons after the resignation of Ing. Carlos Parejo. No details have been released as to the reason for the resignation.

Icaza is a chemical engineer with a degree from the University of Guayaquil and has previously served as a deputy minister in the oil ministry. Most recently he was a manager at Petroamazonas.
