Justice Minister resigns as of 1st March

Published

The Czech Minister of Justice, Helena Válková, has tendered her resignation apparently because she was not receiving enough support from her party ANO (Yes).

The real reason for the resignation is still unclear with ANO party leader and Finance Minister
Andrej Babiš suggesting that the party had been close to dismissing the Minister because of poor management skills. Válková is reported to have tendered her resignation last week but President Miloš Zeman has not yet accepted the resignation and is considering whether to appoint Deputy Justice Minister Robert Pelikan to the post.

The resignation is said to be set from 1st March.
