Li Xiaopeng named new Transport Minister

Li Xiaopeng has been announced to be the new Minister of Transport. No new appointment for the former Minister Mr. Yang Chuantang has been announced yet.

Li Xiaopeng (57) was the Governor of Shanxi Province before this new appointment. He was also Chief Executive of China Huaneng Group (one of the five largest state-owned electric utility enterprises in China). He is also the son of former Premier Li Peng who served from 1988 to 1998 mainly under the leadership of President Jiang Zemin.
