Mini reshuffle takes place

Prime Minister Raila Odinga and President Mwai Kibaki have undertaken a mini Cabinet reshuffle.

Minister for Higher Education, Science and Technology, William Ruto has been axed and replaced by Professor Margaret Kamar. Ruto intends to stand for the presidency in 2012.

Minister of East Africa Community, Helen Sambili, has also been axed and replaced by Musa Sirma.

Moses Wetang’ula has been reinstated as Foreign Minister whilst Uhuru Kenyatta remains in his post as Finance Minister.

Four assistant minister posts have changed. Aden Duale has been axed and replaced by Dan Mwazo as Assistant Minister for Livestock Development.

Mohamed Gabbow is the new Assistant Minister for Special Programmes; Manson Nyamweya is Assistant Minister of Trade and Julius Murgor is now Assistant Minister of the Environment and Mineral Resources.
