Minister of Power resigns

Published

Minister of Power, Professor Bart Nnaji, has submitted his resignation to President Goodluck Jonathan who has accepted the resignation.

The minister says that he has resigned in order to save the privatisation and reform programme from those who might want to bring down the programme. Elsewhere it is reported that the president accepted the resignation because of Nnaji’s admission that companies linked to him had submitted bids for one of the successor companies created from the unbundling of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).

A successor has not yet been named.
