Minister resigns

Trade and Industry minister Martin Kocourek has resigned following accusations of financial impropriety.

The minister is reported as having deposited a large amount of money into his mother’s investment account several years ago. He claims that he was hiding the money from his wife during their divorce.

Prime Minister Petr Necas has accepted the resignation of the minister who came from his centre-right Civic Democrat party.
