Minor Cabinet reshuffle

Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt has undertaken a limited reshuffle of his Cabinet following the election of a new leader for the coalition’s junior partner, the Centre Party.

The Centre Party, the fifth largest party in the Riksdag (parliament) with 23 of the 349 seats elected Annie Lööf as its new leader upon the retirement of Maud Olofsson who had been their leader for the past ten years. The new appointments made are as follows:

Annie Lööf is the new Minister for Enterprise and Regional Affairs and head of the Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications.

Lena Ek becomes Minister for the Environment and head of the Ministry of the Environment.

Anna-Karin Hatt is the new Minister for Information Technology and Energy.
