Mohammed Ali el Sheikh is new Supply Minister

Major-General Mohammed Ali el-Sheikh has been approved by Egypt’s parliament to be the country’s new Minister of Supply and Internal Trade. He replaces Khaled Hanafi who resigned over criticism from MPs over missing wheat from a number of distribution centres.

A retired general Sheikh was formerly head of the armed forces’ public services division and had held a number of administrative roles in the Ministry of Defence including the supply department.
