Momodou Alieu Bah is named as new Minister of Interior

President Yahya Jammeh has appointed Momodou Alieu Bah as his new Minister of Interior. He replaces Ousman Sonko who had survived in the job for ten years.

Momodou Alieu Bah is better known as a senior military figure who was involved in a coup attempt and was sentenced in 2006 to 25 years in prison. He was pardoned in 2015.

President Jammeh is renowned for making frequent changes to his Cabinet.
