New Culture Minister

Published

The President’s office confirmed yesterday afternoon that Culture Minister Ana de Hollanda has stepped down from her post after complaining about the low budget for the Culture Ministry. It would appear that she had been sacked from the post and is the thirteenth minister to go since the president came to office in January 2011.

She has been replaced by Senator Marta Suplicy who was previously Mayor of Sao Paulo and a tourism minister. She is a member of the Workers’ Party (PT).
