New ministers for Guinea


President of the West African state Guinea, Alpha Conde, has appointed ten new ministers.

The most significant of these is Mohamed Lamine Fofana  who has been named as the new  Mining Minister.  Guinea is the world’s top supplier of bauxite.

The new justice minister will be Christian Sow.  Whilst the President retains the Defence Ministry he has appointed Abdoul Kabele Camara to the defence portfolio.

President Alpha Conde was elected on 7th November 2010 in what was seen as the first free election since independence from France in 1958.
