New president and new government

Danilo Medina was sworn in yesterday as the new President of the Dominican Republic. He replaces outgoing President Leonel Fernandez who also comes from the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) after winning the 20th May presidential election.

The President’s new Cabinet was announced and also sworn in yesterday. The full list of Cabinet members as published in Dominican Today is as follows:
