Published

Just a few days after appointing his new team, Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda has been forced into a new appointment.

Yoshio Hachiro the trade minister who was only appointed last week has been forced to resign after making inappropriate comments at the site of the Fukushima nuclear plant, describing the area as a ‘death town’.

He has been replaced by Yukio Edano who was previously the chief government spokesman following the earthquake and tsunami in March.
