Park nominates new Justice Minister

President Park Geun-hye has nominated Kim Hyun-woong to be the new Minister of Justice.

Kim Hyun-woong (56) is currently the head of the Seoul High Public Prosecutor’s Office. The role became vacant after Hwang Kyo-ahn was confirmed as Prime Minister by parliament last Thursday. Previously he had served in the Seoul Western District attorney’s office and Gwangju District Attorney’s office as well as the Busan High Public Prosecutor’s office and vice justice minister. He is a graduate of Gwangju Jeil High School and Law School of Seoul National University.
