Pirkko Mattila is new Health Minister

Hanna Mäntylä, Finland’s health minister has announced that she will resign to spend more time with a terminally ill ‘loved one’. The Finns Party, which holds the health portfolio has announced that Mäntylä will be replaced by Pirkko Mattila.

Pirkko Mattila (52) has a degree as a nurse anaesthetist and a Master of Science from the University of Oulu. In addition to her native Finnish she also speaks English, Swedish and German.
