PM changes Health and Human Rights Ministers

Published

Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka has made two changes to his Cabinet in a mini-reshuffle. The move was made, apparently, after poor results in recent local elections where his ruling Czech Social Democratic Party (ČSSD) lost a number of seats.

Miloslav Ludvík has been named as the new Minister of Health. He replaces Svatopluk Němeček. Jan Chvojka replaces Jiří Dienstbier as Minister of Human Rights.

Both ministers are from the ČSSD although the prime minister is reported as expecting to meet with the heads of coalition partners ANO and the Christian Democrats about changing some of their ministers.
