PM makes minimal reshuffle

Published

Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt has carried out the reshuffle forced upon her when two of her ministers resigned this week, one for health reasons and the other for lying to parliament. The only surprise move in the reshuffle was the recall of Social Democrat MEP Dan Jørgensen from the European parliament. He replaces Karen Hækkerup who has been moved up to become Minister of Justice.

Analysts say that the moves will make little difference to the general thrust of government policy.

The full list of changes announced by the Danish government is as follows:

Karen Hækkerup Minister of Justice
Dan Jørgensen Minister of Food and Agriculture
Holger K Nielsen Minister of Foreign Affairs
Jonas Dahl Minister for Taxation
