Prachanda elected PM by Nepalese parliament

Pushpa Kamal Dahal (also known as Prachanda), the Chairman of the far-left Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist-Centre) which has 80 of the 601 seats in Nepal’s Constituent Assembly has been elected the new Prime Minister of the country.

Prachanda (61) took 363 votes with 210 votes against. This is his second tenure as prime minister; previously he was in the post between August 2008 and May 2009.
