President announces reshuffle

The President of Botswana has announced a cabinet reshuffle which took effect on 1 October.

Onkokame Kitso Mokaila has been transferred to the Ministry of Mineral, Energy and Water Resources. His predecessor, Dr. P.H.K. Kedikilwe, will concentrate on his responsibilities as Vice President.

Tshekedi Khama has replaced Onkokame Kitso Mokaila as Minister of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism. Mokaila moves to the Ministry of Mineral, Energy and Water Resources.

Dr. Gloria Somolekae moves to the Office of the President as Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration. Her job focus will be mainly to assist the Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration in areas of Poverty Eradication and HIV/AIDS.

Assistant Minister Vincent Seretse is transferred to the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning and Assistant Minister Keletso Rakhudu replaces him at the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
