President appoints new Finance Minister

A short piece in the Sudan Tribune states that President Salva Kiir has dismissed his Minister of Finance, Aggrey Tisa Sabuni. The article suggests that the decision was taken as a result of corrupt practices but this cannot be confirmed. Several other news items suggest that the former Finance Minister has been re-appointed as a Presidential adviser.

The new Minister of Finance is David Deng Athorbei a former Minister of Finance & Economic Planning and Minister of Electricity and Dams who represents Athorbei Yirol West county of Lakes state
