President appoints new Ministers

Following the resignation of a number of Ministers from the Cabinet last week President Maithripala Sirisena has sworn in replacements.

The new appointments as announced on Presinform are as follows:

Cabinet Ministers

Hon. Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena – Minister of Parliamentary Affairs

State Ministers

Hon. Pandu Bandaranayake- Minister of Public Administration and Democratic Governance

Hon. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya Minister of Environment

Hon. Hemal Gunasekara Minister of Samurdhi and Housing

Deputy Ministers

Hon. Chandrasiri Sooriyaarachchi- Minister of Lands

Mr. Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena and Mr. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya currently serving as Deputy Minister of Aviation Services and Deputy Minister of Home Affairs respectively. In addition to those deputy ministry positions they have been allocated new Cabinet and State Ministry portfolios.
