President Danilo Medina appoints new Education Minister

President Danilo Medina has sworn in a new Minister of Education, Carlos Amarante. The appointment was made after the president sacked Josefina Pimentel as Education Minister on Friday.

The appointment of Carlos Amarante was announced in Decree 209-13 with no official statement concerning the reasons for the sacking of the previous minister. Carlos Amarante was president of the Dominican Telecomm Institute (lNDOTEL).
